Girls in Aviation Day started in 2014 by Women in Aviation International to help expose girls to aviation careers and show them that anything they want to do is possible! This STEM event focuses on different aviation activities such as sectional map scavenger hunts, learning to pre-flight an aircraft and building and test flying your own foam glider. In 2025, GIAD was attended by more that 42,000 youth worldwide with events 24 countries!
In 2025, the Boston Chapter hosted our GIAD event at Manchester Airport in New Hampshire. We had more than 180 youth participants and their families as well as 70 volunteers attend our event. Stay tuned for more information about our next Girls in Aviation Day!
