Our members are air traffic controllers, aircraft mechanics, corporate and airline pilots, student and private pilots, meteorologists, military aviators, FBO managers, airport managers, and so much more! We all share a love for airplanes and enjoy connecting with others who share our passion for aviation.
Our members are spread across eastern New England, with a vast majority in the Greater Boston area, southern Maine, and southern New Hampshire.
The chapter focuses on 3 types of events: member development & career advancement, friendship, and community outreach.
Our chapter has held and participated in a variety of events, including résumé-building and mentorship sessions, volunteering with local Girl Scout troops, aviation-themed paint nights, holiday parties, air traffic control tours, and more. Our biggest event of the year is Girls in Aviation Day, held every September to inspire and encourage the next generation of aviators.
Membership in the Boston Chapter is open to anyone of any age who has a passion for aviation!
To be an active member of the chapter, you must be a Women in Aviation International member in good standing and current on your yearly chapter dues.
The benefits of joining a local chapter include local aviation connections, friendship, opportunities to give back to your community, access to member only events and tours and of course people to talk about airplanes with! Chapter membership also allows you to run for board positions, vote in chapter meetings and apply for chapter sponsored scholarships.
Women in Aviation International memberships give opportunities for members to receive mentorship from aviation professionals around the world, access job boards, attend conferences and connect with women who share your aviation passion. Membership also gives you access to scholarships and discounts on aviation products.
The best way to support our mission is to join and get involved! This chapter is completely volunteer run and we count on members to step up. Whether it's joining our Girls in Aviation Day planning committee/fundraising team or running for a position on the board, we need members to be involved!
You can also financially support our chapter's mission to spread aviation and foster a supportive community for our members.
